In this workshop, we will deep dive into the historical legacy of symbols of death and invite you to consider how we could create and implement contemporary symbols of death into our everyday lives, to remind us to live our lives well. These Memento Mori images will help us to contemplate our relationship with death and what might happen to us when the one inevitable event we plan for the least comes to visit? Moth invites you to participate in the unhiding of death, turning death from something we fundamentally fear to something we can learn from.
We will provide project packs and bring along an archive of visual resources to stimulate discussion and inspire your visual ideas.
An immersive and fast-paced workshop of talking, thinking and making (symbols & friends).
This is a free event but spaces are limited so please do book in advance. The workshop will take place in the Rougemont Room on the 2nd floor of the Library, with access via lift and stairs.
