Comfort & Joy welcomes you to the ultimate queer experience of San Francisco Pride week!
Step into the legendary Afterglow, as we conjure the four elements - water, earth, air, and fire - to create a Pride extravaganza unlike any other.
Experience C&J’s eclectic fusion of radical self-expression, neon psychedelic art, and bliss! We transform Space 550 into four elemental realms, inviting you to immerse yourself in the vibrant energies of raw nature and pure cosmos crafted with a touch of queer magic.
At Comfort & Joy we take pride in holding space for the alchemichal, celebrating the realness of humanity, while encouraging cathartic escape and soulful revival via community gatherings. Join us as we transmute a space that is as open to our returning friends + lovers as it is welcoming to new queer alchemists celebrating Pride.

Feeling Safe & Respected is our top priority. Consent is key - always communicate and check before engaging physically.

Afterglow volunteers get a chance to meet the movers and makers that dream up the Glow as well as a complimentary ticket to the event; in addition setup/strike volunteers a tasty free lunch and all staff + volunteers get line-skipping priority entry at the door. We depend on over two hundred pairs of helping hands to make Afterglow happen each Pride season...sign up to Volunteer here!
125x Door Tickets will go on sale at 10pm on 6/29/2023 for $140 each. Please note Space 550 is a 21+ with ID venue.
Afterglow is a luxurious, one-of-a-kind San Francisco celebration thrown by Comfort & Joy, a 501(c)(3) volunteer-run not-for-profit corporation. Proceeds enable us to host more fabulous parties, create our legendary village in the queerborhood at Burning Man, provide community art grants within and outside of San Francisco, and offer free or discounted events supporting inclusion of all queer, creative and expressive community members here in the SF Bay Area and from around the world.
Comfort & Joy offers free/discounted Affinity tickets for BIPOC, Trans/ Non-Binary or if the cost of our presale tickets would prevent you from attending otherwise.
The Affinity program is an effort to counteract the systemic racism/discrimination faced by our intersectional community members as well as many other categories of human we haven’t learned to appreciate just yet. Radical inclusion in our events is a first step toward holding space for all in the queer community.

Note: Affinity Program applications must be submitted by Wednesday, June 12th 2024 for a chance to receive an Affinity ticket. 40 Affinity tickets have been set aside for distribution on a first-come, first-served basis; after those are distributed, all additional applicants will be collected and a lottery will occur to distribute an additional 15 Affinity tickets 3 days before Pride Saturday [no later than Wednesday, June 26th, 2024]. A third and final set of 15 Affinity tickets will be available for our Door Divas to distribute to under-represented and fabulous queer community in the Door Ticket line at their discretion.
