A Casual Conversation About Making Wine Accessible and Finding Your Palate

Join one of fewer than 170 Master Sommeliers in the country for an intimate evening that demystifies wine — from the decade-long journey to earning the industry's most difficult credential to the simple question of how to find wines you'll actually love.
This isn't just a lecture on tannins. It's an honest, down-to-earth conversation about what it really takes to master wine, the moments of doubt along the way, and the everyday lessons that can make anyone more confident with a glass in hand. Expect stories, a few pours, and plenty of room for questions you've always wanted to ask but felt too intimidated to.
Whether you're a curious beginner or a casual wine lover looking to go deeper, this is your chance to learn from one of the best — with a drink in hand.
Don't miss this chance to sip, learn, and connect with fellow curious adults through your After5 Society.

About The Speaker:
Julie Dalton is a Master Sommelier — one of only ~25 women in the Americas to hold the title and one of fewer than 300 worldwide. As Wine Director and Chef Sommelier at Stella's Wine Bar and The Post Oak Hotel in Houston, she oversees one of the city's most acclaimed wine programs. Julie's path to the top wasn't linear: she started waiting tables in college, spent years in biotech working on the human genome project, and ultimately followed her passion for wine into a career that's taken her from breaking corks in front of billionaires to earning the industry's highest honor. She's known for making wine approachable, and her mission is simple: help people find what they love to drink.
