About this Event
Join us for an After Hours Studio session inspired by Kira Freije’s exhibition Unspeak the Chorus.
Taking inspiration from Freije’s repeated cast figures and the expressive power of gesture, you’ll use alginate to create a cast of your own hand, exploring how simple poses can communicate emotion, connection and meaning without words. Together, we’ll consider what our own bodies might add to the installation, and how form and subtle differences can shape the way we read an artwork.
We’ll guide you through the casting process step by step, with time to experiment, reflect and discuss the exhibition. Your finished cast will be ready to collect the following week.
Your ticket includes a complimentary drink, access to the exhibition and a guided walk-through of Unspeak the Chorus.
We offer a range of facilities to ensure we are accessible to visitors. Please click here to find out more about visiting Modern Art Oxford. If you have any questions about your visit, please get in touch at [email protected].
