Open 24/7, the 365 stallholders boast a wide variety of wares to serve the Malay Muslim community; everything from traditional clothes and prayer essentials to spices, herbs, and even jamu to feed a family. Watch the butchers as they process mutton, beef, and chicken for market-goers, and vegetable stall owners as they arrange fresh herbs from Malaysia and Indonesia - then whet your appetite as you meet hawkers preparing large batches of briyani and bubur kampung (kampong porridge) on the second floor of the market!

While you’re tucked into bed at night, many yet start their day, ready to face the graveyard shift. Come on an unforgettable journey with us and witness how the neighbourhood continues to hustle and bustle after dark, as hawkers and workers alike prepare for a long day under the cover of darkness.Singapore might seem to be a city that ticks on efficiently, but it all depends on a workforce that toils tirelessly throughout the night to ensure that our island keeps working throughout the day.Come meet these dedicated and hardworking individuals, and watch them go about their routines - their dedication may just inspire you!
Who should come?
- Everyone is welcome to participate!
- Participants 12 and under must be accompanied and supervised by a parent and guardian at all times.
Programme Details
- Approximate Duration: 3 hours (Please arrive 15 minutes before the tour for registration)
- Language: English
- Meeting Point: Drop off point at the Entrance of Geylang Serai Market, facing Changi Road (1 Geylang Serai, Singapore 402001)
- Ending Point: The event will start and end at the same point.
- The events will proceed rain or shine.
What to bring?
- Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably and wear covered shoes.
- Participants should bring along an umbrella and a bottle of water.
- Please ensure that you bring along any personal Medic*tion. Asthmatic individuals are reminded to bring their inhaler.
Other important information
- Parking is available at HDB MSCP Block 2 Geylang Serai.
- The venue is not wheelchair friendly.
- Photography is allowed during the event.

- Each ticket admits only one participant.

- Participants must abide by the house rules set out by the host. Facilitators will brief participants at the start of the programme.
