Afrorack (aka Bamanya Brian) takes modular synths in an entirely new direction with a DIY synth that he built by hand after patiently scouring computer repair shops in his hometown of Kampala, Uganda. Infusing elements of electronic music with African musical traditions and polyrhythmic structures, his self-titled debut album The Afrorack (2022) made it to several best album lists of the year. This performance marks Afrorack’s North American debut, and the first city on a Canadian tour that will include stops at Remai Modern Art Gallery (Saskatoon), Interior Network (Edmonton) and Casa del Popolo (Montréal).The evening will also Goo, Phen Ray and Jacob Audrey Taves.
