Let's get together and celebrate Afro-Caribbean culture at Afrofest 2022!
This event is for our Black Community group, attendees must identify as Black to attend:)
AFROFEST has become one of the most important African cultural organizations in Canada as we present multicultural events and initiatives which aim at reducing or eliminating anti-Black racism in Canada.
Key Points in 2022:
- Celebrating its 34th year
- This is the first time we will present a 3-day festival at Woodbine Park.
- Largest free African festival in N. America with over 55 performances.
- Programming Philosophy: Genres of music which showcase African and Black culture (Afrobeat, Afropop, Soukous, Makossa, Rai, Reggae, Rumba etc.)
- Lineup focuses on local artists but also includes international artists.
Some new elements of AFROFEST 2022 are:
- DJ Sound Clash
- Fashion Show
- Afrofest Community Shield Awards
