Get ready to move, sweat, and shine at our Open Level Afro Dance + Hip Hop Class in Baltimore!
Join Dance With Sarah Powell (DWSP) for a special Black History Month dance experience in Baltimore—a two-hour workshop designed to celebrate, unify, and honor the deep connections between African culture and Black American culture through movement.
🕐 Hour 1: Afro Dance
We’ll kick things off with Afro dance, exploring foundational movements rooted in African rhythm, groove, and expression. Expect high energy, cultural context, and feel-good choreography that invites you to connect to the music and the movement.
🕑 Hour 2: Hip Hop – Memphis Jookin
In the second hour, we shift into Memphis Jookin, a powerful hip hop style born in the Black American South. You’ll learn the essential footwork, bounce, and storytelling that define the style, highlighting how African rhythm continues to live on and evolve in the diaspora.
This 2 hour workshop is about more than just learning steps, it’s about celebrating shared history, honoring lineage, and creating unity through dance. Whether you’re here for culture, fitness, community, or to expand your dance foundation, this space is for you.
