Register at SaturnJiveDanceSpace.com The Afro-Jazz Roots Workshop is a weekend devoted to the history and continuity of African Dances in the diaspora of The United States.
This is a Swing Dance Lindy Hop community event but we also will have classes in hip hop and modern dance that are also influenced by african dances in American history. And African Dances with Paté Nassalang of course!
Paté has danced for his whole life and is a professional African Dances as well as swing dancer and it is the purpose of this event to explore the movements, the languages and the cultural connections in LINDY HOP, SWING AND JAZZ that are the memory and prevailing remnant of the African Dances brought to the country so long ago. And those Dances survived the unthinkable and we are still dancing them in ballroom, studios, hip-hop music videos, clubs, and on concert hall stages.
