About this Event
African Redemption is a bio pic on the life of Jamaica's National Hero and renown civil rights leader Marcus Mosiah Garvey. The film is being presented by the Kiwanis Club of Toronto Caribbean in celebration of Jamaica's 60th Anniversary of Independence in 2022.
The film will be screened both in Brampton and Toronto. It will be screened as follows:
- Brampton on Saturday August 13 at 6.30PM at the St Paul's United Church 30 Main St S
- Toronto on August 14 at 6.00PM at the Isabel Bader Theatre 93 Charles ST. W

The film, narrated by legendary actor Keith David (Greenleaf), is the newest release from Jamaican Canadian Film Director Roy T. Anderson, who spent most of his career as a Hollywood stunt man for notable characters such as Denzel Washington, Will Smith and Jamie Foxx (to name a few). This is his third feature film in a series mainly based on Jamaica's first peoples (the Maroons).
Kiwanis International is dedicated to improving the lives of children, one community at a time. The Kiwanis Club of Toronto Caribbean (KCTC) is a community of empowered service minded individuals creating ways to serve the needs of children in the Greater Toronto Area through projects, partnerships and collaboration.
