About this Event
Greetings,
My class specialises in teaching traditional dances from various countries in Africa, where you get to experience the magic of dancing to live drum music and understand the beautiful connections between the drum language and your body.
All parts of the body are used in African dance as it awakens those areas that are ignored through the challenges of modern life.
You will learn new ways of bodily expressions to rhythms that are controlled through the different languages of the drums.
Your challenge will be getting use to hearing instructions being played and then responding with the movement required for that particular command.
As well as listening and responding to the live drumming your body will start to express cross rhythms and polyrhythmic movements.
The experience will feed your brain and body with the natural vibrational sounds and movements that we need to resonate with Mother Earth.
This is more than a fitness class, as it strengthens, heals and brings calmness to your inner being.
It can be challenging as with anything new, at first, but with some patience you are guaranteed to feel the positive changes in your mind, body and soul. Come and try this unique method of connecting with yourself.
