African American Cemetery Resource Workshop

A Quinn Jones Museum & Cultural Center in partnership with the Florida Public Archaeology Network will be hosting a cemetery resource training workshop for African American cemeteries.
The State of Florida has made a strong effort in providing resources to assist African American communizes on the preservation of black cemeteries.
The history of African American cemeteries is being lost due to development often on top of burial grounds. The museum workshop will bring communities together to learn of the history of African American cemeteries, how to preserve them and how to create digital libraries and exhibitions to honor community stories. Following the workshop, a walking tour will be held at Pine Grove cemetery adjacent to Evergreen.
