About this Event
Run by the Community Kite Project, this workshop will be an opportunity to learn an entirely new skill - how to make your own kite!
This is a very traditional hobby in Afghanistan, and a celebrated pasttime to fly kites with those you love. How better to bring together our amazing community here in Barking!
The workshop will begin in Barking Learning Centre, where you will follow a one and a half hour workshop on how to construct your own kite. Following this, we will move to Abbey Green for half an hour to fly the kites.
This workshop will be suitable for any child 8+. Any child younger than 12 will require adult supervision for the duration of the workshop.
Please purchase one ticket per kite you intend to make. For example, two parents accompanying one child might want to make one kite, so only one ticket would need to be purchased; two parents accompanying three children might want each child to construct a kite, so three tickets would need to be purchased.
