About this Event
This free educational workshop in collaboration with College of Lake County & Connections for the Homeless invites you to come together to learn, reflect, and take action on one of the most urgent challenges facing our neighbors: housing affordability in Waukegan, IL.
Facilitated by Emma, Education and Outreach Specialist at Connections for the Homeless.
This workshop is designed for everyone, no prior knowledge is needed. It is a space for curiosity, learning, and collective responsibility.
Together, we will explore:
- How housing affordability affects everything in our community — from family stability and education to health and economic opportunity.
- What is driving rising housing costs, including the policies and systems shaping who can afford to live in Waukegan.
- How your voice matters, and where advocacy can make a real difference for families at risk of being displaced.
