This week: Platonic Intimacy

I have a friend, one I care for and adore deeply, and the only way we show affection, is by them bumping their head into my shoulder. That’s it. And yet, when they do, it is an act that causes deep emotional connectivity, and joy. The joy of a friend who I feel.. close to. A sense of intimacy, that has nothing at all to do with physicality of any nature, and yet? Is just as important.

And that is the intimacy I’d like to have the nature of focus for us, this time. The intimacy of closeness that platonic affection carries, and the importance of it, and especially during this month flitting about love? Take time to celebrate a kind of love that is just as important as the romantic sort.
