Colonel Rett Burroughs enlisted in the Army as a Military Policeman in 1992, earned his commission as a Signal officer through Officer Candidate School in 2001, and has since built a career in communications, cyber, and IT leadership roles across operational, joint, and strategic assignments. He has served in key command and staff positions worldwide—including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan—and held senior roles such as Division CIO for the 1st Cavalry Division, Chief Information Officer for America’s 1st Corps, and Chief of Operations at the Army Cyber Center of Excellence. A U.S. Army War College graduate with advanced degrees in strategic studies and military history, he currently serves as Capabilities Directorate Chief of Mission Command Systems for the DAG8 and is a certified Project Management Professional.
