About this Event
Advancing Organizational Resilience
This three-day course takes place on June 12, September 25, and October 23.
Nonprofits across Alberta are entering 2026 under mounting pressure from sustained service demand, rising costs, workforce instability, and increasingly complex community needs, with these challenges especially acute in regional hubs like Grande Prairie that serve large and diverse populations. Incremental adaptations are no longer enough, and a growing gap between organizational capacity and community demand threatens the sector’s role as a core part of Alberta’s social infrastructure. In response, PolicyWise for Children & Families has developed an evidence‑informed Organizational Resilience Assessment Tool and a tailored, Alberta‑specific resilience program that supports nonprofits to stabilize immediate operations, strengthen future-focused decision-making, and retool systems for long-term sustainability. Delivered in partnership with the City of Grande Prairie on March 18–20, 2026, the session equips nonprofit leaders with practical frameworks to navigate uncertainty, protect mission and values, support their workforce, and redesign organizations for resilience rather than short-term survival.
