About this Event
For the past 6 years, GlobeMed at GWU has had the opportunity to host a HillTop Conference in support of our partner organization, Set Her Free. The mission of this conference is to raise both funds and awareness for Set Her Free as well as a specific, relevant global health issue of GlobeMed’s choosing.
This year, we will celebrate GlobeMed at GWU’s 7TH ANNUAL HILLTOP CONFERENCE on April 6th! At each conference, prominent global health experts are invited to speak on a specific health topic that GlobeMed at GWU feels is vital for future public health professionals to have knowledge of. Throughout the event, attendees will have the opportunity to listen to the speakers, ask questions, attend workshops, and network with like-minded students. The topic for this year’s conference is Advancing Child Health and Education: From Local to International Policy and Practice.
This conference will engage attendees during a keynote speech and round of workshops focused on the challenges of ensuring and improving children's health and early childhood intervention in today's society. It will address the complex factors contributing to these issues and emphasize the need for inclusive conversations on such a vital topic. Drawing panelists from the DMV area, with a diverse range of expertise in child health, development, and public policy, the event will serve as a platform for exploring the links between children's well-being, early interventions, and the role of both local and global systems in supporting these efforts. In addition to a captivating keynote speaker, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions, the event will also include a series of skills-based workshops, a walk-through on the history of our partner organization Set Her Free, and an opportunity to broaden one's understanding of this public health topic through debate and conversation.
This event will be held on the morning of Sunday April 6th from 9:30am-2:30pm in USC. For a detailed schedule of the event, complete with specific locations and times, please refer to the agenda listed below.
A breakfast catered by Call Your Mother Deli will be provided. We hope to see you there, in support of GlobeMed and Set Her Free!
The dress code for the event is business professional attire. Thank you in advance for your compliance.
