About this Event
This class is open to all, but best suited for those with a basic understanding of asana (physical yoga postures). This class will empower students to take on arm balances and inversions, featuring preparation to develop these skills at every level. Keep your practice fresh by exploring creative transitions and diverse sequences.
Meet Bailie!
Bailie is from a small Michigan town where she was a competitive gymnast for 16 years. One day, her middle school teacher decided to offer a yoga class in P.E. and she immediately fell in love, laying in her first-ever savasana with a sense of calm she had never met before. From then on, she explored a wide variety of yoga classes as a means of seeking out internal peace and self-love, to contrast deeply with the competitive nature and physical intensity of always “pushing yourself further” that the gymnastics world requires.
Bailie retired from gymnastics and moved on to attend the University of Michigan. In Ann Arbor, she became a member of the Michigan Yoga Club and a devoted studio member at aUM Yoga. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she began to teach yoga classes via Zoom to young gymnasts in her hometown at the Tecumseh Gymnastics Academy.
Bailie's approach to yoga has remained true to the experience she had early on in this journey: providing space for students to connect with their bodies in a loving manner. Her favorite classes to teach are Vinyasa flow classes that incorporate breathing exercises to support the parasympathetic nervous system. Her mission is to foster a space where students can realize on their own that their internal dialogue can be filled with love and lack of expectation.
