About this Event
Ideal participant is 18+ and possesses a desire to learn effective strategies geared toward achieving wellness and one’s ability to positively impact the view and experience of chronic pain. Part 1 of the series focused on basic cognitive behavioral skills intended to facilitate change in a person’s experience of chronic pain. Participants who attend the second workshop will learn additional strategies related to managing chronic pain that are designed to positively impact mental health.
Participants will review and learn:
· Statistics related to prevalence of chronic pain.
· Advanced techniques to address chronic pain and underlying causes.
o Focus on the body’s storage of trauma and various processing techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
· Review and identify common cognitive distortions and replacements for negative thoughts toward one’s experience of chronic pain.
· Review and discuss the benefits of collaboration between mental health professionals, physical therapists, and personal trainers to treat chronic pain from a holistic perspective.

· Learn and discuss strategies to begin changing your view of chronic pain and the impact on your view of yourself, others, and the world.
