Join us for a comprehensive two-day training event designed to equip professionals with the advanced knowledge needed to feel confident and well-prepared on the topic of sexual violence. This event aligns with the NHS Scottish Transforming Psychological Framework Plan and offers an in-depth exploration of critical topics related to sexual violence and their impact.
This programme will take place over two days, Friday 7th and 14th of February 2025 between the hours of 9am and 4pm.

Our advanced training programme focuses on seven key areas essential for professionals working with survivors of sexual violence.
๐ Identification of Sexual Violence:
Learn to recognise potential signs and indicators that someone may have, or is experiencing sexual violence.
๐ Sexual Violence Disclosure:
Learn the different types of disclosure and the best practices for handling disclosures of sexual violence in a supportive and empowering manner.
๐ The Short and Long-Term Psychological, Physiological, and Social Effects of Child Sexual Abuse on Adult Survivors:
Learn how and why child sexual abuse can affect the adult survivor, and how these effects can manifest.
๐ The Emotional Impact of Working with Survivors:
Understand the emotional challenges faced by those working closely with survivors and some strategies to help reduce or manage these impacts.
๐ Trauma-Informed Care:
Explore the principles of trauma-informed care in relation to survivors of sexual violence to enhance your practice and support survivors.
๐ Stereotypes, Myths, and Misunderstandings Concerning Sexual Violence:
Address common misconceptions and stereotypes surrounding sexual violence, and explore why these can occur, and how these are detrimental to the individual, and to society.
๐ Survivors Coping Mechanisms and Effective Coping Strategies:
Gain an insight into how survivors may cope with their experience of sexual violence, and manage their symptoms. Explore effective strategies to support their recovery.

This training is specifically designed for professionals who:
โ Have a remit to respond to individuals affected by survivors.
โ Would like to adapt their work practices to accomodate trauma responses and reduce the risk of retraumatisation.

This event is completley free for professionals working within the Telford, Shropshire, and Wrekin area. ๐
This ticket will cover access to both days of training. You will recieve an email with a link to access the training a few days before it is scheduled to take place.๐
