About this Event
It’s been said that you don’t have to be a great singer to do musical improv! In this five week class, students will lean into the idea of singing ugly, a term for letting the character’s point of view and emotion drive how they sound and how they sound inspire their point of view! Students will stop trying to sound good and instead give themselves over the song their character needs to sing. This class culminates in a showcase. The prerequisite for this class is Musical Improv Level Two at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater or equivalent training with permission from the Training Center Director.
Topics in this Course include:
- Making big character choices and committing to them
- Jumping and justifying into a song from a suggestion
- Giving gifts and offers that are fun for you and your scene partner
- Finding inspiration from big character tropes
This five week class meets on Mondays from 7-9:30pm starting on May 11. The instructors are Lynsey Hale & Josh Diamond. All sales are final. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older.
