About this Event
Advanced Lightroom Masking
** Note: This class covers both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom CC **
Masking has completely changed the way we edit photos in Lightroom. Where once we applied edits to an entire image, now we have a huge amount of control over making adjustments to specific areas of the photo. Need to make your subject a little brighter? No more tedious brushwork: a single click isolates the person and puts nearly all of Lightroom’s editing controls at your fingers.
But that’s just the start. With Lightroom’s AI-based masking, you can do sophisticated portrait retouching; isolate different areas of landscape images with a single click; paste edits to a series of photos, even where the subject moves from shot to shot; adjust areas based on luminance and color; and more. You’ll learn both practical and creative ways to edit photos, as well as how to save time with Adaptive Presets.
Masking is by far the most-requested Lightroom topic from his Lightroom library and editing classes. And Jeff Carlson, the author of the book Adobe Lightroom Course and Compendium (Rocky Nook) and frequent instructor at Kenmore Camera, is here to make sense of it all.
Covered in this class:
* How to create and use Lightroom’s 11 types of masks
* Using Adaptive Presets to save hours of editing
* Making luminance masks and color range masks for targeted adjustments
* Adding and subtracting mask types for greater control
* Masking’s hidden secret weapon: intersecting masks
* Copying and pasting masks between images
* Practical portrait retouching using masks
* Using Landscape masks to improve landscape photos
* The best order for making masking edits
