Students will learn the principles and fundamentals of using your created patterns and sewing their first garment with oversight.
About this Event

Instructor: FashionBar Representative

Classes are limited to 1 person (per class).

This is an advanced design, development & construction class where you will learn the principles and fundamentals of using your created patterns and sewing your first garment with oversight by a FashionBar Representative. Students will have to understand the basics of pattern making and sewing to sign up for this class. Students will learn techniques for using one of their created patterns, cutting fabric, and sewing your first design sample focusing on quality, form, fit, and functionality. By the end of this class, you will have completed your first garment. NOTE this class meets for 4 sessions, therefore if your garment isn’t completed during these 4 sessions, then you can book more consulting time with a FashionBar Representative to assist in mentoring you to complete your garment!

Optional: Bring Your Own **Straight Stitch Sewing Machine – you will be required to have read your user manual and know how to use your machine before signing up for this class. We also have the required machines for this class as you do not need your own machine. The machines we have are Singer and Juki with straight stitch and serger machines.

Duration: 4 Sessions

Class Limit: 1 Student

Time: 2 hours each Session

Requirements to sign-up for this class are as follows:

  • You will have your completed pattern with seam allowance
  • You will have to purchase your textiles, closures (zipper, hook and eye).

This will be required for your first day of class.

By the end of this class, you will have completed one garment based on your pattern . .

We advise you to please purchase the following supplies:

  • L square
  • clear french curve
  • hip curve ruler
  • tape measure
  • pattern drafting pinwheel
  • pencils – no pens
  • 2-inch clear ruler
  • paper scissors
  • pins
  • scotch tape

Purchaser names must be at check-in; this information will be shared with the instructor of the course providers for purposes of order fulfillment.

NOTE this class meets for 4 sessions, therefore if your garment isn’t completed during these 4 sessions, then you can book more consulting time with a FashionBar Representative to assist in mentoring you to complete your garment!
