Why volunteer at Tam O’Shanter Farm?

What will your responsibilities be?
• Delivering new projects not directly involving the animals.
• General maintenance tasks such as raking leaves and cutting back hedges.
• Building/fixing and painting fences, paths and animal pens.
• Maintaining tools.
• Creating and maintaining wildlife areas and delivering other practical conservation tasks.
• Helping to improve the space for our animals, our local wildlife and the visitors to the farm.
What must a practical volunteer have?
• Good level of fitness.
• Able to work outside in all weathers.
• Trustworthy, self-motivated team player.
• Keenness to develop their practical skills.
• May already possess particular practical skills.
• Must be aged 18+.
Time Commitment: This group meets monthly 9:30-16:00 on the third Thursday of the month. Participants are welcome to come as much or as little as they would like but must already be registered as a volunteer. Anyone not registered will not be able to volunteer on the day.
