Learn the art and science of foraging at Succop and Buffalo Creek Nature Parks. Educators Chris Kubiak and Ryan Stauffer-who have a combined 50 years’ experience foraging and utilizing wild plants-offer up a new and unique adult summer camp. This 3 day-camp will show you how to identify, prepare, and utilize local plants. Some plants can be eaten immediately while others require processing. We will also explore medicinal and useful plants in our region. Most of our time will be spent in the field with indoor instruction. We will also learn about dangerous look-alikes and how to forage ethically. Students will also receive a personal copy of Peterson's Field Guide to Edible Wild Plants.
