About this Event

Volunteer Training Session
Join us for a volunteer orientation and training at Trailblazers HQ in Bentonville!
Bikes and helmets will be provided, just wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe athletic shoes.

During this session, you’ll learn the teaching methods used in our Adult First Ride classes. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be an experienced cyclist—new and casual riders are welcome! We’re looking for supportive, patient, and friendly individuals who enjoy helping others learn.

All volunteers will receive hands-on training and resources to confidently assist with classes. A background check is required to help ensure participant safety.

Bilingual instructors are especially encouraged to apply.

About Adult First Ride

Adult First Ride is a beginner-friendly class that helps adults learn how to ride a bike in a supportive, welcoming environment.

  • Classes are free or low-cost and offered regularly (Benton & Washington counties)
  • Each session is about 3 hours (weekday evenings or weekends)
  • Bikes and helmets are provided
  • Small class sizes (up to 15 participants) with trained instructors
  • Focus on a balance-first teaching method (balance, braking, pedaling)

Participants may also have the opportunity to receive a refurbished bike and helmet through our partnership with Pedal It Forward. We’ll also share helpful resources on where to ride, safety tips, and how to stay involved.

About Trailblazers

Trailblazers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to trail development, bike education, and advocacy. Our mission is to create a more connected, active, and inclusive community through cycling and outdoor recreation.
