About this Event
Brighton Bike Hub is running three two-hour long cycle training sessions where you'll be supported by Bikeability trained cycling instructors to get more comfortable riding a bike.
This £30 ticket is for all three lessons (£5 an hour), not just the date listed on Eventbrite. Purchasing a ticket gives you a space at three lessons - 10:30am-12:30pm on Sunday 5th, Sunday 12th and Sunday 19th July. You will also be emailed to confirm this.
The cost of these sessions has been subsidised with funding from Sport England - the value of them without this would be £35-50 per session. If you cannot afford the £10 per session cost then please get in touch with us as we will provide a small number of free places for those that really need them.
Whether you have never ridden a bike before or want to gain confidence riding on the road, these sessions are open for all skill-levels. When you buy a place you will be contacted to confirm what level you are so we can adapt the course to your needs - either practising in an off-road or on-road environment.
We strongly encourage you to try and make all three sessions (5, 12, 19 July) to get the most out of the training. A lot of progress can be made in one session, but going to all three will sustain the skills you gain. We are also running a separate block of Wednesday evening sessions, which you can find on our eventbrite page: brightonbikehub.eventbrite.com
We will be running these blocks of sessions every month, so you can also buy the block for the next month if you want to continue your training.
All sessions will take place from 10:30am-12:30pm, meeting at the south-east corner of Preston Park velodrome, where 'The Sussex Peasant' pin is on google maps.
If you do have your own bike and helmet, please bring them. If not, we will provide them.
