The adult study group that meets in the conference room is studying the letters of St. Paul. The group is currently discussing Paul’s letter to the Philippians written in 60 A.D. “St. Paul praises and admonishes the Philippians that they abide and carry on in the true faith and increase in love. But since injury is always done to faith by false apostles and teachers of works, he warns them against these men and points out to them many different preachers - some good, some bad - including even himself and his disciples, Timothy and Epaphroditus.” (Martin Luther) From the Lutheran Study Bible: “Philippians reveals Paul’s intense love for and joy in this congregation. The warmth he shows toward them is unique among his letters, since the congregation seems to need less discipline than others. He describes the Christian life in all its blessings and goodness, which come from the Lord’s work in us.” Study guide materials will be provided on a weekly basis using the Lifelight Bible Study series from Concordia Publishing House. Please come for study and discussion when you are able on Sundays from 9:15 - 10:15 AM in the conference room.
