About this Event

(CCOP) in association with (CPS), and with the gracious support of , invites you to pre-register for our very popular 2-hour Adult Active Shooter Basic Training Safety class.

The LGBTQQI+ community is always a likely target of violence from many factions in society today, and as history has clearly shown, mass casualty events are something we all should consider, plan around, prepare for, and in the worst case scenario, be ready to respond to.

Unfortunately in today's strange world, very often our Children have more information, training, and knowlege on how to respond to an Active Shooter incident than many Parents or Adults do, as they receive the information at school - where they "should" be safe from such horrors.

Community Patrol Service (CPS) in cooperation with Castro Community On Patrol (CCOP) have developed this classroom lecture formatted introduction to the concepts of planning and preparing for the possibility of an Active Shooter Incident and how to respond.

The training will introduce safety concepts and recommend some simple steps for you, your family, and the overall community to consider for normal day to day life, and when attending larger community or neighborhood events.

COMMUNITY PATROL SERVICE

(CPS) is a nonprofit, entirely volunteer run, organization that seeks to build comprehensive collaborative efforts on safety and security between residents, businesses, private security and law enforcement agencies. We also support and assist in the development of Community Walking Patrols and advocate for general safety and security measures at the neighborhood, city, state and national level.

CPS developed the original training model for Castro Community On Patrol, and we remain a Brother/Sister organization to CCOP, continuing to provide training and resources to that program.

CASTRO COMMUNJITY ON PATROL

(CCOP) members are unpaid community volunteers who make a positive difference in the Castro neighborhood.

Deploying regular weekly uniformed and visible “Safety Patrols” of three members, Castro Community On Patrol (CCOP) offers general safety information and guidance, advice, and an extra set of “eyes and ears” for the community. Our Patrollers encourage good behavior and our presence helps to prevent, or quickly address, bad behavior in the neighborhood. As unpaid community volunteers, we don’t physically break up fights or make arrests, but since 2006 we have had a significant positive impact on the overall safety of the Castro neighborhood. And of course, when we need to, we can immediately call on the services of the professional responders in the Police and Fire Departments that we work closely with.
