Ayesha -
I’m i-e-sha, but everyone calls me Jamma - either you remember is good with me ☺️.
Cat-lady, Tree-hugger and plant-mom is how I’d describe myself, but I’m glad to add Knit Connoisseur to that list now ?
As you can relate, in 2020, I got very excited about my resolution to knit. I’d given crafts before, but nothing would stick. This time, it was different. My interest kept peaking, and the dopamine hit grew with every skill I picked up and every piece I created. 4 years later, I’m still at it!!
I’ve found knitting has allowed me to express myself creatively and support my mental health as it’s one of the few times my mind stops racing, and I feel still. Knitting has really supported socially as well. I’ve made friends in person and online thanks to this classic skill where I may have struggled otherwise. There’s also the heartwarming bit of finishing projects and gifting loved ones, which is amazing!
I’d love to share my love of knitting with you and support you in your first project. There’s quite a bit of theory, but I’d like us to get stuck in so we have something to (physically) take away by the end of the evening.
Azeezat -
Intuitive, curious and warm, Azeezat is a poet, knitter and mother.
You can connect with her poetry on @finewordsweave and her knitting @soul.knit.grow
