AEF Breakfast Briefing with the Illinois General Assembly
Join the Partnership for College Completion for a focused morning briefing with members of the Illinois General Assembly to advance the Adequate and Equitable Funding Formula (HB1581/SB13). This breakfast gathering will provide legislators with a clear, data-informed overview of the proposed formula and create space for meaningful dialogue about strengthening Illinois’ higher education funding system.
Illinois students, particularly those from low-income communities and communities of color, continue to face barriers to college access and completion due to inequitable and insufficient public investment. The Adequate and Equitable Funding Formula offers a research-based, accountability-driven approach to funding public universities in a way that prioritizes student need, institutional capacity, and long-term stability.
The briefing will begin with welcome remarks and context-setting from PCC leadership. A focused presentation will then walk through the core elements of the formula, including how it works, how accountability is built in, and the formula's potential to catalyze Illinois' future. The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A to address key questions and discuss next steps toward passage this session. Contact Sonny Metoki at [email protected] for any questions.
Breakfast will be provided.
We look forward to your participation and partnership in moving this critical legislation forward.
