Under the direction of conductor Kyunghun Kim the afternoon begins with the world premiere of Between the Suns composed by Ramapo Professor Gilad Cohen. This orchestration of his award-winning Ten Variations sets the stage for a mesmerizing program. Next Carl Maria von Weber’s Concerto for Clarinet No. 2 in E-flat major Op. 74 will be performed by clarinetist Kingsley Hsieh. The concert concludes with Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 1 in F minor Op. 10—a groundbreaking early work by the composer.
