Adam Sweet delivers brooding blues and roots-rock, balancing richly detailed songwriting with soulful vocals and expertly piercing guitar work.Taking his cue from the British blues boom of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, the independent blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter has carved out his own territory at the crossroads of classic rock, blues and Americana. Since first hitting the live scene in the South West of England at just 15, he has worked in various guises - solo acoustic performer, session player and band leader - developing a consummate ability to shift effortlessly from sensitive singer-songwriter to full-throttle blues rocker, with a less-is-more approach rooted in feel and authenticity.
Adam Sweet and his band were crowned Introducing Stage Winners at The Great British Rock and Blues Festival in 2023, cementing their reputation as one of the tightest live acts on the circuit. This momentum continued with nominations for UK Blues Emerging Act of the Year at the UK Blues Awards in 2025 & 2026.

Adam first picked up the guitar at the age of seven, but it wasn’t until his teenage years, and private tuition with former LA session musician Adrian John Loveridge, that his spark truly ignited. A formative live experience watching blues-rock band The Hamsters play in his hometown of Lyme Regis proved decisive, sending him headlong into the music of his guitar heroes and onto the local live circuit.
Following years of honing his craft in numerous bands, Adam launched his solo career with his acclaimed debut album Small Town Thinking (2014), recorded in Devon and Nashville. The album earned widespread praise, including a five-star review and Album of the Month award from Guitar Techniques Magazine, which hailed its “whole new perspective on the blues genre.”
His 2017 acoustic EP Take Your Time showcased the essence of his renowned one-man shows and featured a co-write with Boon Gould (Level 42). Tracks received extensive BBC Introducing airplay and accolades including Album of the Week from Laurel Canyon Music.
Adam’s evolution into a fully-fledged blues-rock artist was confirmed with his second studio album Sink or Swim (2020), recorded with producer Josiah J Manning at Momentum Studios, Plymouth. Featuring Ian Jennings on bass (Jeff Beck, Robert Plant) and Garry Kroll on drums (Mark Ronson, Joss Stone), the album received extensive radio play, charting for two months in the IBBA Top 40 and earning multiple end-of-year accolades.
Post-lockdown, the rejuvenated Adam Sweet Band, featuring Paddy Blight on bass and Thomas Hughes on organ, has built a formidable live reputation, performing at festivals and venues across the UK including the 100 Club, Brudenell Social Club, Sidmouth & Rye International Jazz & Blues Festivals, and supporting artists such as Wishbone Ash, Kris Barras Band and Elles Bailey.
In 2024 the band released Live at Crescent Records, recorded and filmed live in a single day. The accompanying video series has amassed over 100,000 views on YouTube, capturing the band’s onstage chemistry in its rawest form.
2026 will see Adam releasing a new studio album.The first single Backstop, released in January, was tipped by w21 Music in their review as an “early contender for song of the year”.
Alongside his work as an artist and band leader, Adam is also an in-demand session guitarist and producer/engineer, with dozens of recording credits and a growing reputation as a mixer and producer working from his unique studio space in a converted Victorian mortuary.
