About this Event
Inspired by 80’s Greenham Common Protest documented in Women For Peace written by Charlotte Dew, Chloé invites participants to create their own patchworked banners in response to feelings of eco-anxiety and sustainability. This is an activist workshop and a space for togetherness where you will be able to express yourself, whilst learning intuitive patchwork and stitching technique.
Participants will be able to work in groups or individually. You can think about what you wish to write on the banner prior to the workshop or decide on the day with Chloe’s help.
All material provided but feel free to bring your own fabric if you want to ! The workshop will run for 1H30 and is alcohol free. Hot drinks/water will be provided.
My name is Chloé Rochefort. I am artist and facilitator, focusing on mental wellbeing and
community-engagement through textile installation and sculpture. I am a material-led creative and I consider interaction with textures as an act of self-care. I explore how creative initiative can participate in the welfare of specific communities and minorities. Through my collective and collaborative projects (workshops, participative pieces), I tackle themes such as self-confidence,“pride of place” and social integration.
