About this Event
Founded in 1923, we are Scotland’s national mental health charity, operating over 70 community services and informing policy and campaigns to promote positive social change.
Mark your calendars for Friday, November 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM, and join us at the stunning Playfair Library Hall at the University of Edinburgh, where we'll be joined by guest speakers to explore the topic — Active Lifestyles: A High Impact, Low-Cost Mental Health Solution.
SAMH's first lecture took place in May 1927 and was restored during our centenary in 2023. This year we will bring together individuals and partners from various sectors and communities. The focus will be on the role, influence, and impact of physical activity, movement, and sport in our lives — a key priority for SAMH.
This free to attend event is an exceptional opportunity to gain valuable insights from leading experts on how sports can positively influence mental health. Our guest speakers (find more information about our speakers in the 'Good to know' section below) will inspire you through thought-provoking discussions that highlight the critical connection between an active lifestyle and mental well-being.
Don’t let this chance to learn, engage, and network with like-minded advocates for sports and mental health pass you by. You can participate in the Q&A session, where our guest speakers will be joined by our partners — sportscotland, and the University of Edinburgh — to voice your questions and thoughts.
Reserve your free ticket now. We can’t wait to welcome you to what promises to be an enlightening experience!
