About this Event
Do you find yourself wishing there were more ways you could get involved in making Calgary resilient and beautiful?
Join Jack, co-founder of Vacant Lots Farm Club, as we walk around Country Hills Village Pond, ending up at our new community farm location.
Along the way we'll discuss the different opportunities that empty spaces present, through a nature based lens. From tiny little patches, to acres of park, you'll learn to look at your surroundings in a new way. Once we arrive at Vacant Lots Farm Club we will be discussing therapeutic horticulture, which is a fancy term for growing food and flowers to make you feel good! It's what our farm club is all about.
YOUR WALK LEADER: Jack Goodwin is a Co-Founder of Vacant Lots Farm Club. He has transformed yards into ecological gardens, and multi-acre City properties into community driven urban farms.
MEETING SPOT: 141 Country Village Road NE, meeting by the big white water tank. Parking available at Vivo East Entrance: 11950 Country Village Link NE
WALK NOTES: Walk is 2km on paved pathway plus 500m on a grass field, breaks offered along the way
***Please note, we ask that folks cancel their tickets through Eventbrite if they can no longer make it to a walk as tickets are limited. This allows folks on the waitlist to take open spots.***
