A space to be in community and express yourself with acrylic paint, hosted by local artist Nick Arteaga!
About this Event

Join Nick Arteaga (he/they), local queer, trans Latine hottie as we learn how to paint what we are feeling. There is no wrong way to express your feelings and we welcome folx who have never painted before and are worried they're not talented or creative enough to execute. This workshop is for you! We are using acrylic paints as a medium to process the heaviness of the world that unfairly lands on the shoulders of us more marginalized folx. It's a lot to process and feel so we are making art about it, together!

One of Nick's art signatures is they paint on anything! He has sold art on the back of pizza boxes, cereal, soda, cake boxes, used canvases, ripped canvasses, etc. We ask that you please bring your own apron, so you don't get your cute fit dirty! Feel free to bring your own canvas, we want to encourage people to recycle and upcycle things they already have at home. Some canvasses will also be provided if you forget.

We also invite those who are experienced in painting, have never been in a queer transmasc lead workshop, think Nick is cute, and/or wanna check out Under the Umbrella for the first or umpteenth time.

Paints, brushes, and some light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring any of your own art supplies as well!
