Technique and unpredictability. This workshop dives into the raw, physical conversation of acrobatic contact improvisation—where both structure and spontaneity are at play.
Learn the mechanics of momentum, weight-sharing, falling, catching, and your body in space. Train your body to move with precision while staying open to the unexpected. Explore how chaos isn’t just disorder—it’s opportunity. A chance to adapt, react, and respond.
Through floorwork, lifts, rolls, and partner/group interactions, you’ll build trust, refine technique, and ability to tune in. Whether you crave structure or thrive in spontaneity.
Come ready to move, experiment, and be challenged.
Dynamic movement – A mix of acrobatics and contact improvisation, involving lifts, weight-sharing, and momentum-based movement.
Unpredictability – A structured space to explore chaos, spontaneity, and improvisation rather than set techniques or routines.
Risk-taking & trust-building – Exercises that push comfort zones, requiring trust in oneself and others.
Physical interaction – Partner and group work that involves rolling, falling, catching, and counterbalancing.
Grounded and aerial elements – A mix of floorwork and off-the-ground movements that challenge coordination.
Creative problem-solving – Navigating movement puzzles and unexpected situations in real-time.
Deep listening & adaptability – Tuning into subtle shifts in weight, tension, and direction while responding instinctively.
Experience with a movement practice or contact improvisation is highly recommended.
