Her research investigates acoustic monitoring methodologies for small mammals while exploring their ecology, distribution, and interspecific relationships across the Channel Islands and mainland France (collaborating with the National Museum of Natural History in Paris).
Hannah is a member of the Jersey Bat Group, serving as the Research Officer since 2023, where she coordinated and assisted with citizen science initiatives including the East-West long-term monitoring project, woodland bat box scheme, and the Bats and Offshore Reefs project - a collaboration with the Société Jersiaise and Jersey Marine Conservation.
She also contributes to the Mammal Society's Small Mammal Working Group, developing research priorities to address critical questions in small mammal conservation and environmental and political change.
This talk will introduce Jersey's small mammal species and their ecology and providing insight into innovative monitoring approaches being tested through Hannah's ongoing PhD research.
