The Conference Vision

Our goal extends beyond a conventional conference. We aim to promote and foster authentic diversity, facilitate continuous learning, and ignite enthusiasm within the thriving Project Controls' community. Centred around three key pillars, we guarantee a new approach with an interactive and captivating experience for our delegates.

This year's theme splits into three fundamental pillars:

  • Controls and Skills for You – Regardless of where you stand in your professional journey, self-awareness is key. Understanding your abilities, strengths, vulnerabilities and blind spots is crucial. We are committed to assisting you in learning and reflecting.
  • Controls and Skills for Your Work – Your interactions in the workplace and the skills needed to be a facilitator, a catalyst for change and a positive influence in decision making, contribute to the success of our projects. Our mission is to foster true diversity in teams.
  • Controls and Skills for Your World – The impact you have on your surroundings and our ability to leverage exciting and innovative changes in our industry, contribute to our social and environmental responsibility. We aim to leave a better world for future generations.

Day 1: Welcoming back the Human Library

After the positive feedback received from our delegates last year, and our shortlisted nomination for the ECITB Diversity and Inclusion award in 2023, partly attributed to engaging with the Human Library, we are pleased to welcome them back on Day 1.

The Human Library experience is a rare opportunity in today's diverse and divided world to discover the differences of others without fear of judgement, and encounter learning opportunities through conversation and dialogue. The Human Library publish people as open books on varied topics describing life experiences from beliefs to diagnoses, family relations to gender, social status to identity, disability to surviving tragedy or trauma. During the conversations, you can engage via curious yet courteous questioning and have courageous conversations with cultures and experiences other than your own without the risk of offence being taken or your language and knowledge needing to be perfect. They turn awkward or uncomfortable encounters with strangers into exciting adventures with people you perhaps wouldn't typically come across or engage with. It's a safe place to take a risk, develop communication confidence, and connect with our common humanity.
The Human Library itself is a neutral platform, apolitical, non-religious, acting just like an actual library or bookshop, full of knowledge but without any mission or ideological agenda other than reading to expand empathy and open minds. They create a brave space for the conversation, you bring your respectful questions and curiosity.

Day 2: Introducing ConnectHub

Alongside the standard high quality speakers you'd expect from a conference, in the heart of our Day 2 programme lies ConnectHub, a dynamic networking cafe.

It's not just a space; it's an opportunity to dive deep into the topics you're passionate about with experts and thought leaders from various industries. From technology to qualifications, coaching to career advice, understanding more about a technical topic, and trying out a trial interview. ConnectHub gives you a unique experience to gain personalised learning.

At ACOSTE, we strongly believe in the power of personal connection. That's why we've created a unique environment where you can select topics of interest displayed on our ConnectHub board and be matched for exclusive 15-20 minute one-on-one (or small group) sessions. These conversations are your chance to gain personalised advice, insights and guidance directly relevant to your goals and challenges.

Whether you're seeking to solve a specific problem, explore new trends, or simply expand your network with meaningful interactions, ConnectHub is your destination. Engage in focused discussions, exchange knowledge, and leave with valuable, informative and transformative insights.

ConnectHub is more than a feature of our conference; it's a commitment to fostering collaboration, learning and engagement in a way that standard presentations can't match.

Join us at ConnectHub: Interactive Insights to experience the difference of truly personalised networking.
