Please join ACEC CT in welcoming Connecticut Department of Transportation Major Bridge Team for a presentation on the Goldstar Memorial Bridge (Northbound) Rehabilitation and Deck Replacement. The Goldstar Bridge located in Groton and New London and carries I-95 over the Thames River. In the Spring of 2025, construction will begin for the major rehabilitation of Connecticut’s largest bridge structure. This project, estimated to cost in excess of $500M consists of the full replacement of the concrete deck, which requires extensive strengthening of the steel superstructure. As one of the most heavily traveled corridors in Connecticut, the maintenance and protection of traffic will be critical and thusly will be accommodated via a series of crossovers, detours and temporary closures.
