American Drew Portnoy chose German as a foreign language in middle school because he thought it was punk. He couldn’t know how much it would shape his adult life.He traded the Rocky Mountains for Berlin’s nightlife in 2000 —and still wonders if it was the right decision. With dry humor aimed squarely at Germans, his family, and himself, Portnoy performs in both English and German.He’s a regular at top German comedy shows like NightWash, Quatsch Comedy Club, and Komische Nacht, and frequently hosts at Comedyflash, Downstairs Comedy Club (Berlin), and Schnack Standup (Hamburg).
