About this Event

Access for All: Women’s Health in the West Midlands
Community Report & Exhibition Launch

We are proud to launch Access for All: Women’s Health in the West Midlands in the heart of the community at BRIG Café, Birmingham.

This event marks the unveiling of both the report findings and a powerful community exhibition, showcasing the beautiful portraits of the women behind the reports on health in the West Midlands. Too often, research is reduced to data and statistics. This exhibition recentres the real people, stories and experiences that shape women’s health outcomes across our region.

Led by PPiE and developed through collaboration between Warwick University, Cysters and ARC West Midlands, this project places lived experience, access and trust at the centre of women’s health research. Launching this work in a community space is intentional. It reflects a commitment to returning research to the communities who inform it and making knowledge accessible, visible and human.

Join us for an evening of connection and conversation as we share key findings from the report, celebrate community voice and reflect on the future of inclusive, community powered research. Together, we will explore women’s health inequalities across the West Midlands and why everyone needs to be at the table if we are serious about moving the dial forward.

This is a free event.
However, we are proud to be supporting Cysters, the charity that has helped shape and support this project and continues to work with marginalised communities across the West Midlands around menstrual and maternal healthcare. If you are able to, please consider making a donation on the day or when booking to help sustain their vital, intersectional work addressing health inequalities.

This event is open to community members, researchers, healthcare professionals, students, funders and anyone committed to women’s health, health equity and participatory research.

Join us to launch this report and exhibition together, in community, where these stories belong.
