About this Event
Please note, this workshop is only for colleagues working in healthcare, social care and the police across Devon.
About the event:
We can all get trapped in unhelpful thoughts, emotions and memories that may lead us to react in ways that are detrimental to our wellbeing and can impact our performance at work.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) emphasises acceptance to deal with negative thoughts, feelings, or circumstances. It helps us to become more present and explore alternative responses to challenging situations. This form of therapy encourages increased commitment to healthy behaviours that uphold our personal values.
Led by Anna Croucher, Senior Colleague Wellbeing Practitioner, this one day, in-person workshop will teach practical ways (based on ACT) to cultivate ‘psychological flexibility’, which has been proven to help individuals:
• Reduce the impact of difficult thoughts and feelings on wellbeing, behaviour and performance
• Get untangled from work-related worry and rumination
• Consider personal meaning and authenticity in behaviour
• Build personal resilience and enhance performance
During the day, you will learn practical and creative tools that can be applied to improve your wellbeing and sense of purpose in all areas of your life.
The workshop will take place from 9am-5pm at Conference Room 3, Health Innovation South West, Vantage Point, Pynes Hill, Exeter, Devon, EX2 5FD.
Teas and coffees will be provided but please bring your own lunch.
