About this Event
The Australia China Business Council Victoria invites you to an exclusive briefing with Dr Carolin Kautz, founder of and consultant at SinoVise.
From October 20 to October 23, the Chinese Communist Party is holding the 4th plenary session of its Central Committee. This meeting is the last big landmark on the way to finalising the new five-year plan that will become effective at the beginning of next year and outline China’s economic and development priorities for the next five years.
The last five-year plan for example identified central areas of technological development like open-source artificial intelligence, but also the silver economy as important investment and development areas. These have since then been fleshed out and manifested with significant impacts on investment and trade opportunities for companies. At the same time, they have also created significant political risks. Therefore, if you want to plan your China business strategically, looking at the new five-year plan is crucial.
The briefing will give an overview of the outcomes of the plenary sessions and discuss what to expect from the new five-year plan. It will especially focus on industries that are important for Victorian businesses, for example agriculture, health, technologies and green energy and education. Following the briefing there will be ample time for Q&A to get a better understanding of how China’s new development priorities might influence your business environment.
