The New Standard: Navigating CSA A440.4 Window Installation in Alberta
With Alberta’s adoption of the 2023 National Building Code, CSA guidelines for window installation have changed. Qualistat Building Envelope Consultants have been working closely with these evolving interpretations, helping builders understand how the standard is being applied in the field and where common inspection issues are arising.Looking ahead to the anticipated adoption of the 2025 National Building Code, CSA A440.4:19 is set to become a long-term requirement in Alberta. At ABEC South on February 25th, Qualistat will present the intent of this standard and outline practical, code-compliant window installation approaches to help designers, builders, and trades confidently meet current and future compliance expectations.
