Meet Onyeka Agwu
Onyeka is a Nigerian American dancer and choreographer based in New York and Boston. Since the age of ten, music has inspired a deep sense of creativity and movement in her. Rooted in Contemporary and various African styles she now fuses the two genres in her work. As a former member of DWP Academy USA, Onyeka has refined her dance skills and continues to do so through consistent training in and out of classes. Her experience as captain of Harvard’s African Dance troupe, Omo Naija, and scene director for the college’s annual Dance and Fashion Showcase has prepared her to both teach and lead the building of community around this shared love for Afrobeat dance.
