About this Event
ABCD: BUILDING JAMES BAY’S STRENGTHS
A FREE 3-Part Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) Workshop Series for James Bay Residents
WHY ATTEND?
James Bay is full of strengths. Neighbours who care, local knowledge, welcoming spaces, and people with all kinds of skills and ideas all help make this community special. This series is about recognizing those strengths and thinking about how they can help our neighbourhood thrive.
Using an approach called Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), we'll focus on what already exists in the community rather than what is missing. Together, we will explore the talents, relationships, local businesses, and shared spaces that make James Bay unique. We will also talk about how these assets can support new ideas and small, community-led initiatives.
If you are curious about your neighbourhood and want to meet like-minded people who care about James Bay, this is a great place to start. Whether it is dreaming up a new mural, starting a community garden, or finding small ways to make the neighbourhood even more welcoming, this series is about connecting with others and exploring what is possible together!
WHO CAN ATTEND?
Anyone who lives in James Bay or feels connected to the James Bay neighbourhood is welcome. Come meet your neighbours, explore the community in new ways, and discover how your ideas and contributions can make a BIG difference!
No experience or background knowledge is needed. Just bring your curiosity, your perspective, and a willingness to connect with others. We will have a lot of fun!
