About this Event
Join in the fun with our W.o.W. Week of Wildlife this May half-term!
A drop-off session designed to allow teens aged 12-17 to explore the wonderful world of nature-inspired writing this May half term!
Take a look at different examples of nature writing styles, and try them out as we take a walk around Abberton. Bring your favorite notebook to fill or make your own for the session.
Take time to mindfully notice nature, share some wildlife wonder with peers, and challenge your creativity! We'll end with the opportunity to share your piece with the group, and inspire one another as wild writers.
These are drop-off sessions, so children do not need to be accompanied. A consent form should be completed before the session so that children can be dropped off.

FAQs
🌳Will we be outside?
Yes, we will be outside for the whole session, so please dress appropriately for the outdoors. There is an outdoor shelter to provide some cover.
🎒What shall I bring?
We recommend bringing snacks to the session, as children get hungry! Wellies and puddle suits are a great idea if you have them. The children will likely play with the mud kitchen and puddles, so wear something you don't mind getting muddy.

We are based in North Essex, local to Colchester.
🚗 Is there parking?
Yes, there is plenty of parking at the Nature Discovery Park.
👶Can I bring a buggy/pushchair?

There is access to toilets in the visitor centre, including baby changing in the disabled toilet
☕Is there a café or a shop?
Yes, there is a café selling hot and cold drinks, a selection of sandwiches, cakes, and snacks.
👨👩👧👦Can younger or older siblings attend?
